CORONAVIRUS: A ZOONOTIC DISEASE

Do you know that;
 The same infectious Bronchitis occuring in animals especially in poultry (that same one you use your ND/IB live clone vaccine or the popoular 3 in 1 to protect is caused by a strain of coronavirus. The virus is highly variable and new serotypes and genotypes continue to appear. The virus dies quickly outside of the host but can spread through the air and can travel considerable distances during an active outbreak

 HOW IT SPREADS
i. By airborne respiratory droplets (coughs or sneezes).
ii. By consuming fluids that emits from infected birds
iii. By direct contact with infected birds
iv. By touching a contaminated surface or equipment (feed and wood shavens sacks etc).
v. Could be transferred through staff to other pens and farms if proper biosecurity is not adhered to.

NB: Coronavirus is not a chicken or poultry disease nor is it found in poultry  but a strain of the virus is found in a particular type of live clone vaccine of poultry known as ND/IB aka 3in1

Be more careful while handling ND/IB Vaccines.
