[7/31, 5:29 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: *Feeding of Lactating*

The objective of the feeding program for lactating sows is to:

• Ensure that all sows consume sufficient feed on a daily basis to meet their energy and nutrient requirements
• Minimize short- and long-term reproductive performance problems due to negative energy and nutrient balance.
• Optimize litter performance
[7/31, 5:33 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: Lactation is the most demanding phase of the reproductive cycle, with significant energy being required for milk production.
Daily energy needs for lactation include energy needs for maintenance and milk production, and these needs will often exceed energy intake for at least part of the lactation period. If dietary energy intake is not sufficient to meet these demands, body tissue will be mobilized to provide nutrients for milk production, primarily from fat stores. Additionally, genetically leaner sows may not have fat stores to mobilize and therefore may breakdown body protein. If extensive catabolism takes place, this is detrimental to short and long term sow productivity
[7/31, 5:35 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: If your lactating sows didn't get enough feeding during this period, it'll affect how many piglets she'll give you in next farrow & how long she'll produce.
[7/31, 5:38 PM] +260 97 9511263: 👂🏾
[7/31, 5:38 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: In Igbo land, there's a tradition we call *Omugo*, this tradition (a pampering act) is seen when a woman gives birth to a child. Do same to your lactating sows as the life & survival of the piglets depends on what they get from the milk
[7/31, 5:39 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: It is imperative that the husband man pays more attention to the pigs this period
[7/31, 5:48 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: The appetite of the lactating sow is lowest immediately after farrowing, increasing gradually up to the third week of lactation. It is well accepted that maximizing feed intake during the lactation period is imperative and should be a primary goal of the feeding system. However, many farms choose to provide a feeding program that gradually increases feed allowance to sows over their first 5 – 7 days post-farrowing before feeding at an ad libitum level
[7/31, 5:52 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: *Ingredients for lactating sows*
In general, lactation diets for highly productive sows should contain ingredients that are concentrated sources of energy and protein such as corn and soybean meal. Feed ingredients that are high in fiber content, such as soy hulls, oats, spent grain, maize, or wheat bran dilute the nutrient content of the diet and may limit total nutrient intake. Some producers add bulky feed ingredients to the sow’s diet before and a few days after farrowing in an attempt to prevent constipation, reduce incidence of mastitis,
[7/31, 6:02 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: On the first day of Farrow, the sow should be given spent grain mixed with *Sharivit* & a little quantity of garnished blood meal & vegetables.

The spent grain is to prevent diarrhea, Sharivit is to ensure that amino acids are available for the piglets while the garnished blood meal is to encourage milk letdown as the dam will feel pampered & homely
[7/31, 6:05 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: *Feeding weaned sow*
This is one of the least discussed topics in pig nutrition & it is how to feed the sow after piglets are weaned and until she shows the first signs of estrous. There are many programs, ideas, and methods! They range from starvation in the first couple of days to feeding ad libitum to achieve the so-called 'flushing effect'. Based on my experience, no two farms use the same method, and there is at least more than a few programs that are used successfully.
[7/31, 6:09 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: In practical terms, a daily feed allowance of between 2 and 3 kg per sow is adequate for most sows. As a general rule of thumb, feeding 2.5 kg per sow will maintain the herd in an average condition, but again attention should be paid to individual animals.

In our farm & all the farms we manage, we give 3kg to every sow we ain't ready to cross.
Note: fruits & veges are not in the 3kg measurements
[7/31, 6:12 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: *Feeding Pregnant sow*

The gestation period is where the future productivity of the whole farm rests because slight variations in sow body condition can have long repercussions in the future.
[7/31, 6:15 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: It has often been suggested that gestating sows require more nutrients during the early and (or) late gestating periods. This is often a very elaborate practice, requiring extra labor and sophistication, which are often lacking. In truth, gestating sows can do equally well on a constant-level feeding program (traditional method) compared to the more elaborate step-feeding programs. Providing extra feed to gestating sows during the late period to increase body condition or litter weight is considered a different matter and should be used as last resort measure.
[7/31, 6:21 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: Overfeeding the pregnant animal might cause dystochia or difficulty during farrowing.

In every meal presented to the pregnant sow, always add veges & fruits & fiber as well as Sharivit in her drinking water to provide her with the necessary vitamins & trace elements required for the healthy growth of the fetuses
[7/31, 6:29 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: *Feeding of breeding Boar*

Properly balance complete feeds and prepare commercial products for breeding boars, it is important to begin with setting appropriate goals, in which case we can focus on the following three:

• Sound development of muscles and bone structure

• High quality and quantity of sperm production

• Longevity and well-being
[7/31, 6:33 PM] Dr Don Vick Agrited: 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
[7/31, 6:41 PM] Zulinkx Agro & Vet Services: Additives and special nutrients that may be added in complete feeds either as straight ingredients or part of a premix product are presented below, in order of significance, according to my personal experiences, but others might be equally important.

√ Selenium (for enhanced sperm virility and quantity). Recommended to supply 50 percent of total needs

√ Vitamin E (for enhanced sperm quality).

√ Zinc (for enhanced sperm quality). This also helps in maintaining hoof health, which is very important for large-frame and heavy boars, especially those used for natural service.

√ Biotin (for enhanced feet health). Recommended dietary specification up to 0.5 mg/kg. It is a universal vitamin added in most diets, but increased dosages are warranted when hoof health is less than acceptable (again, most important for heavier animals).

√ Vitamin C (to ameliorate heat stress). Recommended dietary specification up to 500 mg/kg. It should be used along with other measures to reduce heat stress.

√ Betaine (to ameliorate heat stress). Recommended dosage varies from 1 to 2 or more kg per metric ton of feed. It is a powerful cellular hydrant, and access to abundant water is thus important.

The above listed are embedded in *Sharivit* & it's what I use

ADVANTAGES OF CAMBOROUGH PIG BREED OVER OTHER BREEDS

We supply all your needs, reach us for age specifications Recommended article; Best egg booster every poultry farmer needs Our expectant mothers  Camborough boar King boar (Watch: Our fast growing weaners  ) Camborough pigs are a product of a cross-breeding system known as criss-crossing- an alternated use of boars of two or more breeds on the female stock produced in a herd. This distributes good characteristics from many different breed lines involved and these are related to meat fat distribution (carcass quality), disease resistance, larger litter size and others. The animal is usually white in colour but, in rare cases, may show characteristics of particular breeds involved in the criss-crossing. (Mating going on in our farm: https://youtu.be/GkKGu0L6aQE ) The Camborough is bred to maximize the kilograms of weaned pigs per year with excellent feed efficiency. In addition, the Camborough can be bred typically three weeks earlier than other genetics, resul...

COMMON DISEASES OF RABBITS: PREVENTION AND CONTROL:RABBIT FARMING CHALLENGES

Rabbits like every other livestock, are affected by different kinds of diseases some of which affects the Farmer's maximum or expected yield. Some common diseases and problems seen in rabbits can be prevented by ensuring you have an understanding of what a healthy rabbit requires and the subtle signs that can tell you your rabbit is sick. Rabbits are domesticated mammals, but it should be remembered that they are very closely related to wild rabbits, and as such will hide signs of illness until they are very sick as this would make them “easy prey” in nature. We encourage you pay close attention to your rabbit, a correct diet, up to date vaccinations and regular health checks to ensure you pick up the early signs of problems, and prevent developing diseases. FEEDING BROILERS WITH PKC

Apply for ZULINKX 2020 livestock farmers financial empowerment Palm kernel Palm kernel cake (PKC) Palm kernel fruit The high cost of commercial poultry feeds in some areas of the world has pushed most farmers to see Palm kernel cake(pkc) also known palm kernel meal(PKM)  meant to be used as an ingredient for formulating poultry ration to be used solely in feeding broilers and this is widespread among subsistence local farmers especially in Africa. Although palm kernel cake supplies both protein and energy, the proximate composition of palm kernel cake suggests that it can be classified as an energy source. Facts about the use of PKC in feeding broilers and other poultry birds •  Poultry are monogastric animals that have a simple stomach and they are unable to tolerate highly fibrous feed. • Due to its high fibre and shell content, low level of energy and key essential amino acids, and grittiness, the use of PKC in poultry rations is very limited....
