Totally eliminating odours from pig farm has proved not to be an easy task but with my years of experience in the sector, I can confidently assure you that it's possible to eliminate odor in pig farm.
Odour management in livestock farms has posed a serious challenge to not just the farmer but to the general public as well as the environmental management agents.
Odour emanating from pig farm is said to be one of the most pungent and disturbing of all livestock venture and posses serious threat to human health.
Below are five (5) effective ways of eliminating or minimizing odours from
Swine farms;
i. Siting The Farm Away from Residential Area
This will allow for sun drying of the manure in the open without attracting environmental agents. Also the pen should be constructed in such a manner that the urine flows to the drainage point where it's collected in the dung pit.

ii. Connecting Vent Pipes to the Dung Pit
Just as the drain pipes in human homes removes water and waste and air vents removes gas and odours, so also it'll function in your pig farm. This is the most effective way of eliminating odours from pig farm. This method reduces about.        80-90% of the odour emanating from dungs and urine.

iii. Evacuation of the Dungs
evacuating sewage from a sewage tank or pit through the use of suction machines when the dung pit is full will leave the farm fresh.

iv. Use of Biofilters
You can reduce odours and ammonia buildup to 65-80% by drawing exhaust air through a biofilter bed. Biofilter is an odour-curbing technology that is very effective but its moisture content must be properly managed. You must ensure that the biofilter is very compatible with your piggery ventilation system.

v. Implementing a top hygiene measures
This may include washing of the pig pen with water and disinfectants, flushing the dungs and urine to the dung pit while washing and changing the wallow water regularly will reduce the odour to a bearable limit.

Broadcast Feeding : This basically involves me going round the pond or spreading floating feed all over the pond to ensure all the fishes in the pond gets to eat. This is for fishes that are in the fingerlings to post fingerlings stage, and its  done  because they just got introduced into a large body of water, often from somewhere significantly smaller, and not all the fishes can come to the same spot to eat.
