MANAGING POULTRY IN THE HEAT OR HOT SEASON


Sudden death of birds especially broilers is common during heat season due to heat stroke.
 You can manage your birds this period by:
✓Proper management of litters materials- you will need to change your litters earlier than before. You must put off ammonia buid up always
✓Supply fresh water at noon - don't just say they have water, you might need to serve cold fresh water at noon. You can put ice block in their water if you have access to it
✓Serve good multivitamin like Sharigrow or Sharivit.


Using garlic probiotics extract will be of great help this season
✓ Avoid long withdrawal period of water prior to vaccination this season
✓avoid over stocking this season
✓Employ early feeding of birds this season
✓2-3 couches housing is a good way of providing appropriate ventilation for your birds. Avoid sun rays into your pen. This should have been controlled through proper positioning of your pen.
✓Handle your lasota vaccination and others very well.
✓Plant trees around your pen, if you are on permanent land.
✓This is not a period of targeting 4kg and above before you sell your broilers.
